FOX 59 - Indy’s Live Music Venues Work Together to Raise Awareness, Funds as They Face Uncertain Future
Fox 59’s Melissa Crash and Indiana Independent Venue Alliance’s Josh Baker discuss the challenges independent venues in Indianapolis and across the state are facing. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, these venues have been forced to cancel all live shows and several have closed their doors, uncertain of when they can reopen and how they will do so.
On Sunday, May 17 a two hour streamed show, ‘Til We Meet Again, aired on Facebook and YouTube to raise awareness for the Indiana Independent Venue Alliance and help raise money to keep these venues in business. The event raised $50,000 and donations are still rolling in.
